He arrived in Coronation Street in 1983 as the show finally created a home on the cobbles for Vera and her husband Jack. Terry joined them at No.9 and Nigel Pivaro quickly made the character his own. Within a short time, Terry was causing trouble and Nigel was becoming a household face overnight with Corrie regularly watched by half the country.
